Golf courses are becoming more and more prevalent in the area and there are many to choose from.

Three of the most prestigious and famous are listed below. All are within driving distance of our properties :

Torremirona Golf Club set in 122 hectares of park land four miles west of Figueres, near the village of Navata, 20 km south from the border with France, in the middle of the wonderful countryside of the Catalonia Pyrenees, with views over the Costa Brava.
Situated 120 km to the north of Barcelona, within easy reach of the Mediterranean coast as well as the international airports at Girona (45 km) and Perpignan (40 km) access could not be simpler.
Torremirona Golf Club has been constructed as an "American resort style course" with big greens surrounded by beautifully constructed bunkers. This course will particularly suit the mid to high handicapper as the course is not as demanding as PGA Catalunya or d'Aro-Masnou. It is immaculately maintained.
Similar to Peralada Golf Club it has few trees, with more of an open landscape. Torremirona is a top quality resort. The hotel, restaurant, spa, superb golf course and practice facilities have all been constructed to the very highest standards. A day’s golfing here is sure to be most enjoyable.

The Real Club de Golf de Cerdanya with its magnificent 18 hole course was inagurated by the king Alfonso XIII in 1929. The golf course is located just outside Puigcerda at Bolvir. Set amid typical Pyrenees forests and encircled by spectacular mountain peaks, it has been the site of many international championships. Long and straight fairways alternate with twisty and winding holes, often with hills and elevated tees or greens making one’s shots very testing.

But the real challenges are mainly in the course’s sloping lies, enormous trees, twisty fairways and ravines. From the sun terrace of the newly built first class Hotel and Clubhouse, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the course’s last two holes with the nearby Pyrenees tops in the background. This antique and magnificent course set in these natural surroundings and the charm of the Club’s staff makes a golfer’s stay unforgettable.

Golf Fontanals de Cerdanya, designed by Ramon Espinosa, was opened in 1994. The 18 hole course, set in the wide Cerdanya valley surrounded by high Pyrenean peaks, is characterized by its perfect integration in this beautiful natural environment. The Peugeot Golf guide listed this course amongst the top 11 in Europe and it’s not hard to understand why. The course is a challenge for all golfers, with water coming into play on many occasions along with numerous bunkers both around the greens and on the fairways.

Besides the excellent and spacious practice facilities, learners can give the game a try on the 3 short holes constructed especially for novice players. A delicious lunch can be had in the recently built Club Restaurant with views overlooking part of the course and the surrounding area.
