The French Pyrenees is a fantastic region for snowboarding with a season starting in late November and continuing until early April. All the resorts welcome snowboarders, but the one which has the most facilities is Les Angles. Les Angles has a large space devoted to a snowpark and has recently enlarged this to account for the growing popularity of the sport.
All our properties are either within a resort or are easy driving distance to them.
We have listed below the main resorts with a small amount of information on each:
Font Romeu - One of Europe’s oldest winter resorts, Font Romeu has been welcoming skiers since 1921. It remains a lively and popular border resort attracting weekend crowds from Spain as well as France. It has the biggest snow making operation in the Pyrenées and the second biggest bed base.
Porte-Puymorens - Typical Catalan mountain village, a family winter resort for all levels with well-prepared, wide slopes set in a large skiing area to guarantee fun for all
Les Angles - Nearest to Mont-Louis, northeast-facing Les Angles is the area’s largest and most advanced ski resort, with 32 pistes, more than half of them red-rated, totaling over 40km. Les Angles is a tribute to the winter sports and has also developed a summer sports industry using the local lake Matemale.
Formigueres - From the village or from the ski resort, Formigueres offers a new cross-country skiing area where you can discover little-known valleys and grandiose views.
Puyvalador - Follow long panoramic trails through a huge forest in completely natural surroundings facing the Puy Valador lake. Those seeking new sensations can discover off piste skiing and snowboarding.
